Goals
Ideally, training flows from your development plan. What are your job or career goals? Therefore, what competencies do you need to develop? The more the training fits your goals, the more you will be able to put into practice what you’ve learn,t and the more satisfaction you’ll get out of your newly learnt skills.
Once you know how a course can fit your development plans, you can define what you want to get out of the training. Before training with us we will ask you what you want to get out of the program. There are two main reasons for this:
- By thinking about the training and how it can help you, you will be better able to focus on getting the most out of the training
- Knowing your objectives will help our training facilitators tailor the session where possible
Training
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” William Arthur Ward
At ICML we provide training in short and intensive bursts. In one or a few demanding days you listen, practice, discuss, experience, reflect and plan for the future. Our expert facilitators help you on the path to self-discovery and growth. You will learn what your strengths are and how to develop them. This will give you better skills and a boost of confidence and motivation. While following the general structure of the training, our trainer facilitators will aim to address your personal objectives, so that the session becomes customised to your needs.
At ICML we realise how hard learning can be and therefore we try to make it as engaging and fun as we can. Training at ICML is never boring. Don’t expect to sit and listen to long drawn-out lectures, make a few notes and leave. Don’t expect a 170 slide PowerPoint presentation. We share the best scientific insights in highly practical ways and let you experience what these insights mean for you personally. We spice up our training with activities, games and discussions, giving you the opportunity to learn new skills in a safe environment.
Personal action plans
Your training only becomes effective when you apply your skills! We help you to plan to and to apply your newly learnt skills. What’s more, an important part of our training model is to enable you to keep on learning after our training.
The first step is to focus on your personal action plans. During the training we make time for you to think about and write down how you want to apply your new skills in the workplace.
Implementation and follow-up
Importantly, during the training we will give you the skills and motivate you to consciously keep on learning once you’re at work. You do this by experimenting with new behaviours. You then reflect on how these went and adjust your plans and behaviours accordingly.
Having someone to help you along, through coaching or mentoring can be an important part of the post-training follow-up. This allows you to make more out of learning-on-the-job. We offer outstanding coaching training. At the same time we work with the best professional coaches to facilitate one on one ‘Performance Coaching’ or ‘Executive Coaching’. After training with ICML we also help you ‘stay in the learning zone’ by sharing management tips with you on a regular basis. Sometimes these tips link back to what you’ve learnt in our courses; sometimes they stimulate you to develop a new skill or do something differently. Most importantly: we’ll keep you engaged with learning communication, management and leadership skills.
At ICML we help you grow and learn continuously! Let us develop you and you’ll notice the ICML difference. Call us today for personalised advice.
